Porad Contest Deadline Extended to September 12

Haiku Northwest has extended the deadline for the eleventh annual Porad Haiku Award to September 12, 2014 (postmarked). Prizes: $100, $50, and $25. Poems will be published on the Haiku Northwest website, and announced at Haiku Northwest’s annual Seabeck Haiku Getaway, to be held October 16–19, 2014. Judge: John Stevenson, former president of the Haiku Society of America, and current managing editor of The Heron’s Nest. Fees: $1 per poem (unlimited entries). Extending the deadline enables us to promote the contest at two Seattle-area events, Aki Matsuri (Japanese fall festival, September 6–7) and the Japanese Garden’s recently rescheduled Moonviewing event (September 6).
