midnight snow
my thoughts drift
to the white chessmen
Agate Beach—
finally finding one
in a gift shop
garden pond
a koi nibbles
at spring rain
dandelion wind
a thousand wishes
cross the sky
a purple plum
eaten at surf’s edge . . .
I skip its stone
