About 35 people attended a reading for Glimmering Hour at the J. Bookwalter Tasting Studio in Woodinville, Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025. This reading, as part of the venue’s Words and Wine poetry reading series, began with all 44 poems from the book’s memorial section, read by Luke Brannon and Michelle Schafer, with a PowerPoint display of poems and author photos by Michael Dylan Welch. After that, with Michael as MC, the reading featured nine Haiku Northwest members: Shiva Bhusal, Luke Brannon, Connie Hutchison, C.R. Manley, Michelle Schaefer, Ann Spiers, Richard Tice, Michael Dylan Welch, and Kathleen Tice (listed in reading order and pictured below in the order they read). The evening concluded with an open-mic reading of mostly longer poetry, led by tasting studio host, John Campos. Photos by Michael Dylan Welch.
