March 1, 2025 BookTree Reading

About 40 people attended a reading for Glimmering Hour at BookTree in Kirkland, Washington on March 1, 2025, including the following 12 readers: Shiva Bhusal, Leszek Chudzinski, Rick Clark, Bill Fay, Trish McKenney Honig, Roy Kindelberger, C.R. Manley, Joan Perkins, Sayantani Roy, Ann Spiers, Michael Dylan Welch, and Jonathan Went (mostly pictured below in the order they read). Each poet also read poems by the eleven poets in the book’s memorial section, as well as their own work from the book plus a few additional haiku of their own. Before the reading, Michael Dylan Welch led a workshop on “Haiku on Steroids,” which began with a brainstorming of “rules” for haiku and an invitation to try doing the opposite.
