Hosted by Haiku Northwest
Saturday, December 4, 2004, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Redmond Regional Library, 15990 NE 85th Street in Redmond, Washington
Everyone is invited to a free day of haiku workshops and presentations sponsored by the Haiku Society of America on Saturday, December 4, in Redmond. This quarterly national conference of the society will take place in meeting room #2 at the Redmond Regional Library at 15990 NE 85th Street in Redmond. Everyone is welcome—and feel free to bring some of your own haiku to share (if you bring copies on printed sheets, such as in a tri-fold brochure, you can give or trade them with others).
Presenters, with talks, workshops, or readings, include Michael McClintock, Pamela Miller Ness, Charlie Trumbull, Michael Dylan Welch, and Ruth Yarrow. The new 2004 Northwest regional haiku anthology, Wind Shows Itself, will also make its debut with a reading of the book, with koto musical accompaniment by Elizabeth Falconer. See full schedule below. Evening events include a group visit to the Bellevue Botanical Garden for its spectacular “Garden d’Lights” show of holiday lights, and then dinner at a nearby restaurant. For more information, please contact Michael Dylan Welch at welchm@aol.com or 206-240-0871.
